James Wood (Jim)
Vincent Joseph Chalk (VJ, Vince) has had music be a part of his life since day
one. At 10 years of age really got into drumming after having his first drum
set. By 13 he had a better set of drums and played in his first Praise and
Worship band in his home church. He had about 4 year’s of formal drums lessons
but for the most part is a self taught musician. Once in high school he formed
his own rock band and then a few other bands during some college followed suit.
After not playing in any band for a while he linked up with Jim Wood to work at
forming Rock Society. When not playing music he enjoys horses, dogs, traveling,
going to sports games, bowling, hunting, snowmobiling, among other things. He
would attribute his musical influences to bands such as Journey, Creed, 3 Doors
Down, Jason Aldean, Our Lady Peace, Gin Blossoms, Alterbridge, Bad Company,
among many others. He looks up to drummers such as Deen Castronovo, Steve Smith,
Scott Phillips, etc. Some of his favorite singers would include Brad Arnold,
Scott Stapp, Clay Walker, etc.
